Mr.Harald Link, Chairman of B.Grimm Group and President of Thailand Equestrian Federation in co-operation with Mr.Matthias Pfalz, President of BMW Group Thailand recently organized ‘BMW-B.Grimm Thai Polo Open 2014’, charity polo tournament to win Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Cup. The polo tournament was the 11th annual Thai Polo Open and scheduled every year in January. The tournament took place at Thai Polo & Equestrian Club Pattaya. The final polo match saw the battle between Kotasas IBIL from Malaysia VS our host Thai Polo Team, which Thai Polo beat Kotasas IBIL 8-6 and won the royal cup.
Proceeds from the event went to support education at Chitralada Vocational School under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
Fans of polo match included Khunying Dhipawadee Meksawan, Prof.Dr.Kantathi Suphamongkhon, Pol.Maj.Gen.Angkul and Supatana Atornphatai, Assoc.Prof.Nareewan Chintakanond, Siriyos Devahasdin na Ayudhya, Luckana Champa, Jessica Amornkuldilok, Jitrsumarn Amatyakul, Bunnaporn Eiamamornpan, Natsupa Prachuabmoh, Sasina Napasab and many more.
The final day of the tournament was the fun and excitement game. It started with show jumping competition at the height level of 120 cm, followed by a lovely parade of kids in costumes, kids riding small polo ponies and the polo exhibition from polo guests.
Highlight was the final match was between Thai Polo team VS Kotasas IBIL team from Malaysia. The match was divided into five seven-minute chukkas.
The event was wrapped up by the Cup presentation, stunning fireworks, a nice cocktail party and great BBQ dinner by the pool.
