Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin, a The Leading Hotels of the World member, was recognized among 86 winners from 10 ASEAN countries to receive the ASEAN Green Hotel Awards 2014. The bi-annual award ceremony was presented by the respective Ministers of Tourism on ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2014 on 19 January 2014 at Kuching Malaysia. This award is presented to hotels which met the required standards and establishes a professional green hotel operation with environmental plan, green product, human resource and environment management.“It is an honor that our property has been recognized as one of the ASEAN Green Hotels, another fruit of the efforts from our Green committee and all staff. We will continue our effort to be one of the leaders of sustainable development; as recognized for over 20 environmental awards we received since 1988 until present, namely, the Environmental Assessment Award, SHE (Safety, Hygiene and Environment) Award, Environment Friendly Hotel, Environmental Impact Assessment (E.I.A.) Motoring Award, Green Accommodations – Gold Class Award, Thailand Energy Award, and our Silver Certification by EarthCheck. We are determined to pursue our engagement in programmes such as producing hot water supply system from solar cells, using low 23 Watt energy saving lamps, serving glass bottled drinking water in our guest rooms, hanging towel conservation signs, using waste water for gardening to ensure both green environment and comfort to our guests”, Jacques Mury said.
