DHL Express, the world’s leading express service provider, recently unveiled its new 119-million-baht Service Center on New Petchburi Road in Bangkok. As the sixth and largest Service Center in Thailand, this latest addition expands DHL’s footprint to 11 in the country. The Euro 2.9 million investment underscores DHL’s commitment to Thailand’s express and logistics market and offers best-in-class air express services and an enhanced pickup and delivery capability to customers.
Utilizing latest equipment such as a high-tech Dual Weight Dimension Length (WDL) tool[1], 48 CCTVs, sophisticated scanners, access control systems, and a shorter conveyor, the New Petchburi Service Center, located on an area of 6,400 sqm, has an operational area of 2,300 sqm and a van accessible parking area of 950 sqm. Capable of processing up to 3,000 packages per day, the center has a peak hourly throughput of 1,100 packages. The new Service Center is strategically located to serve customers in central business district areas of Ladprao, Sri Nakarin, Klongteoy and Pleonchit, and is conveniently located to major transportation links such as express ways, the MRT network and the Airport Rail Link.
Reflecting DHL’s commitment to climate change and its GoGreen initiatives, the facility has environmentally-friendly and more fuel efficient vehicles in ground transportation. Over 30 vehicles at this Service Center are fitted with gasoline engines running on 100% CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) to improve the carbon efficiency, in addition to continued effort on route optimization and asset utilization.
“Our investment in New Petchburi Service Center is another important milestone in our growing business in Thailand. We are committed to linking Thai companies and our many SME customers with new and profitable global markets. It is important that we continue to provide our customers in Thailand with the physical and technological infrastructure to enable them to decide the best solution for their air express and logistical requirements,” commented Yasmin Aladad Khan, Senior Vice President, DHL Express South East Asia.
“The New Petchburi Service Center is very close to many of our customers and is in close proximity to significant transportation links including express ways, MRT and Airport Rail Links,” added Chananyarak Phetcharat, Managing Director, DHL Express Thailand and Indochina. We will ambitiously continue executing our strategy in Thailand of investing ahead of the curve to build on our market leading position and serve our customers better as their Provider of Choice as they grow their businesses internationally.”
