Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit, the brand’s flagship hotel in Southeast Asia, is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. William J. Haandrikman as its new General Manager. The position is effective immediately.
A Dutch national, William is a graduate of the Hotel School in the Netherlands, the ESSEC Executive Management Program, and the Executive Management Programme at Cornell Business School, USA.
William joined the ACCOR family in 1992. He brings to Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit 21 years experience working within the hospitality industry at a senior management level in eight countries on three continents. Prior to his recent appointment at the luxury Bangkok hotel, he was General Manager at the 503-room Sofitel Shanghai Jing’an Huamin in China where he led the opening team and positioned the hotel as one of the finest five-star properties in the city. Previous appointments have also included General Manager of the renowned Sofitel Vienna Stephansdom in Austria, and General Manager of the Sofitel Paris La Defense in France, and several other prestigious ACCOR hotels.
William is fluent in Dutch, English, French and German. He will be joined in Bangkok by his wife Anastassia.
He is looking forward to his new challenge and contributing to the further success of Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit.
