The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) will organize LED Expo Thailand 2014 to bring and update the latest LED technology to professionals and top enterprises in lightings industry in ASEAN region.
LED Expo Thailand 2014 hosted by EGAT associated with IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd. and MEX Exhibitions Pvt Ltd. This event is a platform where international and local lighting manufacturers and distributors can meet for business expansion to capitalise on the ASEAN economic integration in 2015. By gathering more than 300 companies worldwide to show their power saving LED innovation technologies. The event will be held during May 22-24, 2014 at Hall 7-8, IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, Bangkok, Thailand.
Mr. Soonchai Kumnoonsate, EGAT Governor, Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand said that "The coming ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) which comes into full effect in 2015, will not only bring more than strong 600-million population into a single market but also present a huge opportunity for international investors to further expand their business into region. Following this trend, we also witness a huge increase of energy consumption both households and entrepreneurs. To cope with this increasing demand, the energy efficiency innovation is needed solution".
“In the present day, the usages of energy consumption in Thailand have continuously increased 4.4 percent per year along with the expanding of the economy by 4.5 percent per year, especially the energy usages from the manufacturing industries and business building. Therefore to solve the country’s power crisis, the Ministry of Energy has set up a 20 years plan to conserve energy (2011 – 2030) by decreasing the energy intensity, the energy that is used in the domestic manufacturing industrial or the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and supporting the innovation of power saving products by 25 percent in 2030 comparing with 2010 including technology lighting products with financial and marketing measures. Thailand can defiantly decrease 20 percent of the power usages in 2014 if they are determent in saving energy along with the innovation technology such as LED light, which is considering as one of the major breakthrough for the power saving in the future” Mr. Soonchai added.
Mr. Loy Joon How, General Manager of IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd. said that “After receiving good response from the industry, EGAT continued to host the second of LED Expo Thailand this year. To create the greater impact on this mega event and develop this event to be the biggest exhibition by focusing on LED Technology in ASEAN region. We plan to organize road shows in Singapore, Taiwan and Myanmar to create awareness of the event and encourage the usage of LED light throughout the region. resort, real-estate and condominium, signage, institution, events company, advertising company and industrial factory. More than 18,000 people are expected to come to the event”.
“Running alongside with the exhibition, there will be a free seminar called “Thailand LED Summit” the seminars from Thai and foreign experts sharing their knowledge and experience. One of the highlight activities is the first ever competition of “Modern Lamp Design Contest 2014” to support and develop student creativity and knowledge. Under graduated students can participate and demonstrate their creative ideas for inventing a product from using LED” added by Mr. Loy.
