For fifteen years, the Jean Paul Gaultier “Classique” and “Le Male” fragrances have personified the legendary couple in perfumery. Reunited on our screens once more in the new “On The Docks” saga released at the end of 2013, their mutual desire is stronger than ever. It is pushed to the very limit: irrepressible!
At the beginning of this year, the two lovers will constantly re-enact the scenes from “On The Docks”. Entranced by the magnetic pull of his beloved beauty, the hero in his sailor’s jersey overcomes every challenge again and again to be reunited with her. His cargo ship slices through concrete, barging across the city and carrying everything in its wake. Then the sailor drops anchor just under her balcony. She is resplendent in beauty as she waits to greet him, having checked her appearance in the mirror a thousand times. “Mirror, mirror on the wall, tell me what will become of our love?”
In an utterly Gaultier twist, the iconic bottles come with accessories during this limited edition to set the tone. As though he is writing their destinies in stone, the sailor’s bottle wears an anchor around its neck. For her to see into their future, she has attached a mirror to her own bottle.
And to reveal the secrets of the legendary couple, the traditional metal cans have become transparent, revealing the inner universe of each: ropes from the cargo ship for him, the lace of the boudoir for her. Visuals from the film appear on the back, where Classique and Le Male are gazing into each other’s eyes with intense promise.
There is no doubt that these two were made for each other, they go on writing the story of the irresistible attraction of perfumes predestined for desire.
