Siripanna Villa Resort & Spa, Chiang Mai will join hands with a group of top artists to host the ‘Charity Art Auction #4’ to raise funds in order to support Chalermprakiet 48 Pansa School in Lamphun. The event will be held from Friday 4th – Sunday 6th April 2014 in the resort’s Siri Thara and Siri Waree ballroom.
In collaboration with Lanna artists, led by Mr. Pornchai Jaima, winner of the 2005 Silapathorn Award, Siripanna Villa Resort & Spa, Chiang Mai has organized the charity art auction to raise funds for Chalermprakiet 48 Pansa School in Lamphun. All proceeds from the auction will go to support the financial budget of the school. The all-girls school was founded on the philosophy of the Ruamnamjai Tanphai AIDS Foundation (Anti-AIDS Foundations), which operated as a full boarding school scholarship to support education for girls whose parents died of AIDS, child abuse, neglect and abandonment. The school was graced by her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and was renamed as Chalermprakiet 48 Pansa School in honor of her 48th birthday.
The charity auction will include pieces of artwork created by more than 100 artists, including famous artists and contributing artists from many regions in Thailand such as Mr. Pichai Nirand (National Artist in 2003), Mr. Prasong Luemuang, Mr. Pornchai Jaima (winner of the 2005 Silapathorn Award), Mr. Songdej Thipthong, Mr. Missamai Pratummang, Mr. Sa-ngium Yarangsee, Mr. Arnan Ratchawang-inn, Mr. Lipikorn Makaew, Mr. Srijai Kuntawang and Mr. Chaiwat Kumfun.“This is the 4th charity art auction for which Siripanna and a group of top Lanna artists will join together to help raise funds for a worthy cause. We are sincerely grateful to be part of this auction as well as to support the education of underprivileged children. Our goal is for the charity auction to be an annual event. It has always been part of Siripanna’s vow to give back to the community,” said Mr. Supamit Kitjapipat, the owner and Managing Director of Siripanna Villa Resort & Spa, Chiang Mai. As usual, he contributed paintings from his own private collection to be auctioned off at the event. Siripanna will sponsor and organize the function completely free of charge.
The Charity Art Auction was initiated in 2011 to support the victims of huge floods in central Thailand. The 2nd auction was held in 2012 to raise funds for the construction of the Metta Buddharam Monastry in Bodh Gaya, India, followed by the 3rd auction in 2013 with all of the money going toward a special project, covering the spire (Royal Umbrella) of the renowned Mahabodhi Mahavihara temple in Bodh Gaya, India. This upcoming charity art auction will be held from Friday, April 4th until Sunday April 6th. The silent auction will occur daily from 10.00 – 20.00 hrs at Siri Thara and Siri Waree Ballroom, and the auction for the contributed masterpieces will occur on Sunday 6th April 2014 from 14.00 - 17.00 hrs at the resort’s Slee Luang room. The winners from the auction will have a chance to win a round-trip ticket Chiang Mai – Samui from Bangkok Airways, gift vouchers from Siripanna, as well as Panna Spa and Robinson Chiang Mai.
