Bangkok--17 Mar--AirAsia
AirAsia has joined with Counter Service to create its latest innovation, offering easy tickets at Counter Services across the nation, making it the first to offer international flights through the system. The innovation takes effect this 17 March and will be introduced with exclusive promotional fares starting from 777THB for domestic destinations and 1,111THB for international destinations (inclusive of airport tax and fees). Tickets must be booked at any Counter Service nationwide from today until 30 March 2014 for travel during 20 March-30 September 2014.
According to Tassapon Bijleveld, CEO of Thai AirAsia, AirAsia continues to be the leader in low-fare air travel, offering the lowest prices for flights on its brand-new planes to a variety of domestic and international destinations while maintaining a strong on-time record.
“Adding payment options via Counter Service, which is available at all 7-11 convenience stores nationwide is in line with our goals of making travel easier and more convenient for all”, said the CEO.
“Everyone can easily purchase AirAsia tickets now (17 March) at Counter Service desks. Ticket bookings can be made as little as 24 hours prior to the flight for all of our domestic and international routes, both single and return. Apart from purchasing tickets, pre-booked check-in baggage may also be purchased at the Counter Service desks. AirAsia will provide continual promotions exclusive to Counter Service to expand its customer base and make it a viable booking channel alongside our website, mobile application and ticketing counters”, added Tassapon.

Mr. Weeradej Ackapolpanich, Assistant Vice President of Counter Service Co. Ltd, elaborated that the latest development builds on Counter Service’s prior relationship with AirAsia, from when the company acted as a payment channel for AirAsia’s Online-Realtime booking system. He said that customers who enjoyed the service asked to be able to book tickets directly at Counter Service desks, leading to an innovation with AirAsia that turned Counter Service outlets into complete ticketing agents. He highlighted that Counter Service has the largest network of agents in the nation and on top of offering both domestic and international tickets, pre-booked check-in baggage will also be available for purchase through the simple system where customers only have to fill out their travel details to receive a receipt and e-ticket as well as a confirmation SMS to assure them of their booking.
“Offering the simple booking system at over 9,000 Counter Service desks nationwide, both in 7-11 stores and other marked locations, I believe this new innovation will serve as a good response to the needs of many customers” Mr. Weeradej remarked.
