Yukultorn Panichayapichet (left), Responsible Care Leader of Dow Chemical Thailand Ltd., recently received ‘Good Environmental Governance Awards’ from Dr. Verapong Chaiperm (right), Governor of Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT). Dow has been receiving the Good Environmental Governance Awards for seven consecutive years. This year, Dow received a total of 15 awards: “Gold Star” awards for six plants and “Green Star” awards for nine plants. The awards guarantee ongoing key achievements in environmental management aspects of Dow’s plants in Map Ta Phut and Ban Chang areas in Rayong.
Dow’s companies receiving ‘Gold Star’ award (2007-2013) in Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate are Dow Chemical Thailand Ltd., Siam Polystyrene Co., Ltd., Siam Polyethylene Co., Ltd., Siam Synthetic Latex Co., Ltd., and Siam Styrene Monomer Co., Ltd. Carbide Chemical (Thailand) Ltd. in Hemaraj Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate has been given ‘Gold Star’ award (2008-2013). ‘Green Star’ award (2013) is also presented to all these companies including Rohm and Hass Chemical (Thailand) Ltd. in Hemaraj Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate, MTP HPPO Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and Siam Synthetic Latex Co., Ltd. in Asia Industrial Estate.
