Bangkok--24 Mar--Dacon Inspection Services
Dacon Pipeline Services successfully carried out a baseline inspection of a 6” condensate pipeline using the latest UT technology and collected a full range of pipe wall data. After data analysis the final inspection report was compiled outlining the pipe line condition to the client’s requirements.
The client operates offshore Vietnam with production facilities in the field presently consisting of a Well Head Platform connected to a Process Utility Quarter Compression Platform. Condensate from the wellhead platform is exported to a Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO) vessel, via a 6” subsea pipeline.
The objective was to clean and inspect the 6” condensate pipeline and flexible riser from the wellhead platform to the FSO and to establish a baseline conditionrecording to be used as a comparison for future inspections. This inspection was carried out “online” using the continued production flow of condensate.
This inspection successfully recorded the remaining wall thickness throughout the length of the pipeline using Ultrasound Technique (UT), carried out using a multi body intelligent pig and passing successfully through the flexible riser without incident.
