Bangkok Bank and WFS-PG Cargo Co., Ltd. (BFS Cargo) have created the ‘Purchasing Debit Card – BFS’ as an alternative to cash when paying warehouse service fees. The card is convenient for importers and exporters as they no longer need to carry a lot of cash or withdraw cash to buy cashier’s cheques. The maximum payment per day is Baht 999,999,999. The card is secure and the bank offers a PIN and SMS notification service, with notifications sent to customers once the transaction is completed, for a fee of only Baht 15 per transaction. As a special promotion, the entrance fee and the first annual fee will be waived for new customers at any Bangkok Bank branch nationwide.
Bangkok Bank Executive Vice President Sutthirat Pacheerat said the bank and WFS-PG Cargo Co., Ltd. (BFS Cargo), one of two companies with a concession to run a warehouse business in the Suvarnabhumi Airport area, have created the ‘Purchasing Debit Card – BFS’ to facilitate payments for warehouse fees to BFS Cargo by importers and exporters. The bank has installed Electronic Data Capture (EDC) machines for clients to make payments to the company. The card can help reduce customers’ risks as they won’t need to carry a lot of cash or withdraw cash to buy cashier’s cheques in advance. The maximum amount for each payment is Baht 99.9 million and the maximum limit per day is Baht 999,999,999. The card is available for individual and juristic persons. One card can link to one savings account or current account. A juristic person can issue up to 10 cards to increase flexibility and cover the different needs of each entrepreneur.
“International trade is constantly growing so the number of customers for warehouse services is also increasing. The bank therefore has joined up with BFS Cargo to create the ‘Purchasing Debit Card – BFS’ as a new convenient and flexible payment alternative for entrepreneurs. The fee is cost-effective at only Baht 15 per transaction. The payment method is easy and secure - customers simply use the card at the bank’s EDC at the product release point and enter their PIN for authentication to prevent others from making transactions with the card. The bank will deduct the funds from the cardholder’s account to instantly make the payment to BFS Cargo and provide an SMS notification service once the transaction is completed. The cardholder can also check the account balance via the bank’s EDC machines while account movements can be checked via Bualuang iBanking, Bangkok Bank’s internet banking service, 24 hours a day.”
