The SEC is seeking public comment on revision of regulations on accredited investor fund (AI fund) investment. The AI funds are allowed to invest in derivatives without limitation of investment ratio. It enhances investment choice for investors of the AI funds to boost their returns or create variety and complexity of investment strategies. In this regard, asset management companies are required to have risk management system that conforming to risk profile incurred from investment in the derivatives. Also, they must comply to other rules on the derivatives investment, such as counterparty limit, reserve requirement and investment ratio calculation in underlying asset. The disclosure rule must also be applied to clarifythe investment in derivatives.
