For the sensual spa element, guests step through teak doors into a soothing inner sanctum, where ten luxurious treatment rooms for individuals and couples are designed in contemporary Asian style. A highlight of Anantara Spa’s luxurious treatment menu, the 90 minute Anantara Signature Massage combines revered eastern and western techniques in purpose designed movements with a unique oil blend to stimulate the circulation and deeply relax muscles, clear blockages of energy and promote overall wellbeing. Afterwards guests may relax in the tranquil spa lounge or on the spa’s rooftop deck, furnished with shady umbrellas, sun loungers, tables and chairs, drinking in an elevated river panorama with cool refreshments.
For the sumptuous tea rituals, The Colonial House offers an ambience of old world elegance, with a shady veranda overlooking manicured grounds and the Mae Ping River.
Afternoon Tea from Monday to Friday between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm serves a decorative tower filled with savoury temptations such as smoked salmon on brioche, gourmet pies and quiches, traditional delights of scones, preserves and clotted cream, as well as sweets including masala crème brulee, macaroons, fruit cake and brownies. A range of specialty teas or coffee invites guests to sip the brew of their choice in charming surrounds.
The weekend High Tea on Saturday and Sunday from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm offers a sweet and savoury boutique buffet of immense variety. Made to order panini and pitta sandwiches, Chiang Mai’s famous Khao Soi noodle soup specialty and a roasted meat carvery with salad creations are joined by classic English miniature pies and quiches, alongside an array of eastern and western gourmet morsels. Countless sweets range from scones and pastries to Thai and Indian desserts, and a live waffle station. Following a welcome drink of the chocolate Colonial Martini cocktail, refreshing detox drinks and coffees are accompanied by the finest hand-picked specialty teas, presented by the Tea Master. While to complement the tranquil ambience, a duet guitar band plays laid back melodies.
