Bangkok--6 May--TEAM GROUP
To celebrate its 36th anniversary in business, TEAM GROUP, together with TEAM GROUP Foundation, held a CSR project, 36-Year TEAM GROUP: Contribute to society. To start with, the executives and employees joined forces to build check dams at the Namtok Sam Lan National Park in Sarburi.
As part of its 36th anniversary celebration on 12 July 2014, TEAM GROUP, in cooperation with TEAM GROUP Foundation, held a CSR project on building check dams in the water source area of Namtok Sam Lan National Park in the Mueang District of Saraburi Province.
On 26 April 2014, Mr. Amnat Prommasutra, TEAM GROUP’s CEO and a committee member of the foundation, accompanied by executives and volunteer employees of TEAM GROUP, joined forces to build 15 check dams with aim of conserving soil and water at the national park. The check dams will help control soil erosion and maintain soil moisture. Increasing soil moisture will contribute to abundance of the forest which so serves as a natural fire barrier. Hence, a viable measure to reduce forest fire risk during the dry season. The check dams will also provide excellent fish habitats as well as water sources for wild animals in the dry season.
The project was expected to reduce water flow velocity and soil erosion in the area; reserve water for wildlife in the dry season; enhance soil moisture which will result in improved biodiversity and forest fire barrier; improve fish habitat; and restore water sources in the neighborhood. Above all, the project will raise an environmental concern among the staff as well as the people at large.
