Wongnai Media Co., Ltd. (“Wongnai”), themarket leader in restaurant review application, today announced that ithas secured another round of funding from Recruit Holdings Co., Ltd.(“Recruit”) through its investment subsidiary, RSP Fund No. 5, LLC. Theinvestment will primarily be used to fund Wongnai’s new operation inbeauty review category and Wongnai’s expansion to other cities in
Thailand.
Wongnai runs restaurant discovery-and-review platform in many channelssuch as Wongnai.com website, mobile apps on iOS, Android and WindowsPhone. Wongnai allows users to search for restaurants all over Thailand bylocation and category, and uses user-generated reviews as the main vehiclefor growth. Users are encouraged to upload reviews or photos to the websiteso that they can be indexed and searched later. Wongnai currently dominatesthe Thai market with well over 1,000,000 registered members in Thailand.
