Promenada hosts Chiang Mai’s standout event with a celebration of Japanese culture and all that makes it great, at “Taste of Japan @Prom” from 24 May – 15 June 2014 (Event Halls A & B). This stunning expedition into Japan, its attractions, trends, art, food and crafts is a poignant and vast Japanese festival, along with a chance to win a 6 days 4 nights Tokyo Tour package for 2 persons with every purchase of 1000 Baht from 24 May – 14 June 2014.
Prom’s Event Hall A becomes a town in itself – “Little Japan,” to be explored and enjoyed, touched and experienced! Feel the land of the rising sun in every corner, under the beautiful Japanese lanterns and red origami cranes, browsing authentic Japanese gifts and imported Manga comics. Enjoy a selection of Japanese food at food stalls whilst Japanese restaurant tenants at Prom introduce special menus and decorative themes. Canon will host a photo exhibition from 1-30 June, adding to the many Japanese-themed photo opportunities throughout the mall, along with special outdoor movie presentations at the Amphitheatre every Friday night.
The Beach @Prom transforms into Tokyo Bay through “Umi,” the Japanese calligraphy character of the sea itself, with musical performances and artistic demonstrations. Sake and imported Japanese beers provide a great reason to chill out. For those who wish to learn the delicate art of Japanese calligraphy, workshops are available along with workshops for origami and sushi creation. There are also Kendo martial arts demonstrations for the truly brave warriors!
