Millennium Hilton Bangkok, recently named one of the Top Three Best New Business Hotels in Asia-Pacific by Business Traveller magazine, has brought the high-tea back with a chic makeover.
High tea guests at ‘The Lounge’ the lounge will enjoy traditional Thai tea and coffee, but will also be treated to ice-blended teas and coffees, fruit frappes and shakes mixed a la minuté by Millennium Hilton Bangkok’s expert baristas and tea professionals. To complement the range of beverages, a wide choice of traditional and contemporary cakes and pastries are also served including the “Liseli” a signature dish of Executive Pastry Chef Urs Rohrbach, a native of Switzerland.
“The ‘Liseli’ is my interpretation of an Apple Calvados Pie and was inspired by my Aunt Liseli. I always spent my school holidays at her farm in Berner Oberland, where all the ingredients came fresh from the backyard. I remember my first Swiss Apple Calvados Pie tasted absolutely heavenly, very rich and very warm in my mouth, and that is what I’ve tried to recreate here,” recalled Executive Pastry Chef Urs
“What better way to unwind after a busy day in Bangkok than by partaking in the indulgence of that most leisurely and civilized of afternoon rituals – the high tea?” said Assistant Food & Beverages Manager, Fabrice Thiebaut.“We know that guests will enjoy Chef Urs’ “Liseli” Pie as much as generations of his family have,” Jean-Pierre added.
The Lounge at the Millennium Hilton Bangkok, designed in a natural palette of earthy tones, is a serene setting for afternoon.
The Lounge opens daily and serves high tea between 10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. at only THB 530 nett per person.
