Scholarships for the Master of Petroleum Engineering (International Program)
SupportsChulalongkorn to be one of theleading international academic institutions
Mr. Tevin Vongvanich, President and Chief Executive Office ofPTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP), and Professor Dr. Pirom Kamolratanakul, President of Chulalongkorn University (CU), jointly signed the Fourth Amendment Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to extend the academic cooperation until February, 2016. PTTEP will provide financial support to the research studies related to the field of petroleum engineering, petroleum geology and petroleum geophysics with the amount of 24 million baht. Furthermore, the company also allocates scholarships to both Thai and internationalstudentsin the Master of Petroleum Engineering (International Program) with the amount of 614,000 baht and 1,130,300 baht each, respectively.
PTTEP has supported the project since 2004, which has successfully produced 5 graduated scholars from countries in which the company operates, namely, Mozambique, Bangladesh and Myanmar. In addition, the project also produced various research publications valuable to the exploration and production (E&P) industry in topics such as Strategies for Hydraulic Fracturing in Naturally Fractured Shale Gas Reservoir, which is the technology specific to the unconventional E&P business.
