B.F.M., Thailand’s leader in high-quality building materials, joins with Armstrong, the world’s top manufacturer and supplier of prefabricated ceiling systems from the United States, to launch prefabricated ceiling systems and acoustic ceiling systems. Featuring capabilities to minimize damage from earthquakes and fire, these environmental-friendly ceiling systems are manufactured from recycled materials. The products will be targeted at high-end customers in the high-rise building sector in Thailand and ASEAN, with target sales of Baht 100 million in 2014 and an increase to Baht 300 million in 2016.

B.F.M. will launch two Armstrong product categories, 30 items which include prefabricated ceiling systems and acoustic ceiling systems. The acoustic ceiling systems of Armstrong with High NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient) and High CAC (Ceiling Attenuation Class) acts to absorb sound, reduce echo inside rooms and also reduce noise pollution within buildings. It also has additional features such as the ability to minimize damage from earthquakes of Armstrong Seismic Rx Systems with patented Seismic clips withstanding over 9 Richter magnitude scale under Seismic Dynamic Test of ICC-ES or IBC standards , a high standard of fire protection and fire retardant with no toxic fumes. This product is considered the latest innovation that is used globally.”
Prefabricated ceiling systems comprise both metal and non-metal products. The acoustic ceiling system are manufactured from mineral fibers, mineral fiberglass and wood. Highly popular, these mineral fiber and mineral fiberglass ceilings contain high recycled materials. The technology used is environmentally friendly and complies with LEED standards for green buildings, which focuses on lightweight materials, easy and fast installation, and convenience. They are durable and do not need to be painted, and come with a 30-year manufacturer's warranty.
Mr. Kasipan said that Armstrong products have been successful among many target customer groups. Following a trial market with sales of over Baht 50 million, B.F.M. has set the sales target in 2014 at Baht 100 million, and an increase to Baht 300 million in 2016. B.F.M. also has a strong intention to expand in both local and ASEAN markets. It will target architects, engineers, interior designers, property owners and home owners in the high-end segment. Moreover, the products will also be available through dealers nationwide and direct sales.
