In 2011, CITIZEN took watch technology to new heights, launching Eco-Drive*4 SATELLITE WAVE, the world’s first watch capable of syncing with satellites in space to display accurate time anywhere in the world. Two years later, Eco-Drive SATELITE WAVE –AIR debuted with a stunning full-metal case and the world’s fastest signal reception speed thanks to radically improved antennae sensitivity. Since its inception, the Eco-Drive SATELLITE WAVE series has enjoyed accolades from around the world.
This year, we are launching the next-generation of this revolutionary satellite-synchronized technology. Thinner and lighter, CITIZEN Eco-Drive SATELLITE WAVE F100 features the world’s fastest signal reception speed and 40 time zones.

The preeminent feature of Eco-Drive SATELLITE WAVE F100 is speed. The watch not only achieves the world’s fastest signal reception speed from up to three seconds, but its satellite-inspired case and band design evoke a sense of pure speed.

CITIZEN uses proprietary lightweight titanium, making this watch not only thin but also lightweight and comfortable. To complement the speedy hands movements, we have crafted titanium into a strikingly streamlined case and band with aerospace-like metallic luster and mirror- finish texture.
Additional improvements include recognition of the 40 time zones, allowing the watch to display the correct time anywhere. The dial design is inspired by the solar panels used to power orbiting satellite. While paying homage to outer space, the hollowed push button design at 2 o’clock and 4 o’clock simulate the fuselage of navigational satellites.
What’s more, the watch features the world’s first*6 Light-Level Indicator for CITIZEN’s Eco-Drive technology. By showing the amount of electricity generated by light reflecting on the dial in seven levels, the wearer can gauge the charge level in any given situation. Accuracy of the time indication has been radically improved as well – from ± seconds per month to ± 5 seconds per month.

When does one second equal two years? That’s how long CITIZEN spent developing a new movement to shorten satellite signal reception speed by just one second. In 2014, CITIZEN proudly launches CITIZEN Eco-Drive SATELLITE WAVE F100. A thinner, lighter design enhances the wearing comfort of this CITIZEN Eco-Drive flagship model. Meanwhile, a newly developed movement called F 100 achieves faster satellite signal reception speed to display extremely accurate time.
CITIZEN has always chosen BASELWORLD as the venue to announce its new Eco- Drive satellite- synchronized watches. In 2011, we introduced Eco-Drive SETELLITE WAVE as a concept model available in limited volume. It was the first watch capable of displaying the exact time wherever worm in the world by receiving time signals from navigation satellites. In 2013, we announced an advanced version, Eco-Drive SATELITE WAVE – AIR. With its enhanced features – including the world’s fastest *1 time signal reception speed, improved antennae sensitivity and beautiful design inspired by “wing” and “sky” – this watch quickly gained a strong following around the world.
Now at BASELWORLD 2014, we are unveiling a successor, Eco-Drive SATELITE WAVE F100. It represents our accumulated efforts to improve this innovation, achieving the world’s fastest*2 signal reception speed from up to three seconds. While the difference from the previous speed is only one second, we take great pride in this small slice of time, because it represents the fruits of our significant development efforts. Light reflected over the watch’s polished material suggests the feel of speed. This flagship model is not simple beautiful, but significant in its beautiful from, which follows a functional relationship between light and time.
