The Metropolitan Museum of Art Store or The Met Store, a museum gift and reproductions shop offers ‘Egyptian Collection’, the variety art pieces that inspired by ancient Egypt in the museum’s collection. The museum’s collection of ancient Egyptian arts contain about twenty-six thousand objects of artistic, historical and cultural significance, dating from the Paleolithic to the Roman period (ca. 300,000 B.C.–A.D. 4th century) which classifies to the Old Kingdom, the Middle Kingdom and the New Kingdom. The Egyptian collection is now available at The Met Store, the Emporium’s 3rd floor Tel 02-664-9191 and The Met Pop-up Store at Kiangwan Building’s 1st floor on Wireless Road at Tel 02-651-4117.
Part of the Egyptian collection such as
- Large Egyptian Cat Sculpture, based on an Egyptian sculpture of the Ptolemaic period (332–30 B.C.), is produced from a master mold of the original in the Museum's collection. The cat was the sacred animal of the Ancient Egyptian goddess Bastet. The Egyptian Cat sculpture is bonded bronze, hand patinated in 13''H x 5''W x 10''D including base, priced at 15,000.- Baht.
- Egyptian Amulet Collection, a jewelry set that adapted the ones owned by Princess Sithathoryunet, who lived during the Middle Kingdom (ca. 2040–1640 B.C.) in the reigns of Senwosret II and Amenemhat III of Dynasty 12. The jewelry is 24K gold overlay, hand enameled with the red center, standing for the sun including Torsade necklace priced at 14,000.- Baht, pin priced at 4,400.- Baht and earrings priced at 3,900.- Baht.
- Egyptian Broad Collar Beaded Collection, a jewelry set that adapted from Egyptian collar for royalty or the elite in ancient Egypt who lived during Dynasty 18, ca. 1353–1336 B.C., made of colorful faience beads. The set offers necklace priced at 16,000 Baht, bracelet priced at 11,000 Baht and earrings priced at 3,500.-Baht.
