Mr. Chokchai Panyayong (fourth from right), Acting President of Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI), and Mrs. Pornpun Waitayangkoon (third from right), President of the Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology (IPST), recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the two organizations to cooperate in the “Project to Support Thai Representatives Competing in the International Science Olympiads 2014-2016.” The event was held at S31 Hotel in Bangkok and attended by Mrs. Petchpring Sarasin (second from left), THAI Vice President, Corporate Image and Communications Department, Mrs. Duangsamorn Klongsara (second from right), IPST Vice President, and Thai youth representatives.
THAI, as the national carrier of Thailand, will provide air transportation to the Thai representatives and teachers, Approximately 50 people per year travel to participate in the International Science Olympiads. The competition consists of seven subjects, those being Mathematics, Information Technology, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Astronomy, and Astrophysics, which includes Earth Science and Space Science. For three years during 2014 to 2016, the program supports social activities that are beneficial to Thai youths’ education, enabling them to become an important part in making Thailand number one in all areas.
