Sosuco and Group (2008) Co Ltd is inviting enthusiast board game players to contest this year’s second tournament of the Thailand Othello Open 2014 by Sosuco and Group 2008. Application is accepted through the website www.thaiothello.com from now until 30 June 2014, and the competition will take place on 13 July 2014 at the Event Hall 2 on the second floor of Fortune Town lifestyle and IT mall. Winners will be awarded prize money and represent Thailand at the 38th World Othello Championship to be held in Bangkok this November.
The company’s managing director Kittichai Kraikokit said: “Sosuco has been the main sponsor of the Thailand Othello Association since 2006, as we have realised the benefits of this board game in promoting intellectual development, concentration and emotional control. We’ve played an active role in the organisation of the national championship competitions as well as providing financial support for Thailand’s representatives participating in the global tournaments abroad through the years. In 2014, it will be the first time for Thailand to have the honour of hosting the prestigious World Othello Championship in its 38th edition and Sosuco is delighted to be the main organiser.”
The Thailand Othello Association organises the Thailand Othello Open twice a year. This year’s first tournament was held in March and two winners, namely Piyanat Anchulee and Warawut Intaranob, will be the representatives of Thailand in the world competition, while the winner in the women’s category, Nida Pattarakul, will have to win a play-off against the winner of the same category in the July tournament to secure a place in the international contest.
The second tournament of Thailand Othello Open 2014 by Sosuco and Group 2008 will search for another two representatives for the country. It is open for interested participants from all genders and age groups and will be a valuable opportunity for players to test their skills and learn from other contestants.
Those who wish to join the competition are encouraged to apply via www.thaiothello.com until 30 June 2014. Catch up with relevant news and updates on the competition at www.facebook.com/thailandothelloassociation
