Makro is reaffirming its commitment to support the sustainable growth and development of Thai retailers by hosting the 6th annual Retailer Expo.
Under the theme, “New Era Retailing,” the expo will run from 26–29 June 2014 (10.00-19.00 hrs) at Exhibition Halls 2-3, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani. The expo will showcase new creative ideas and future retailing concepts designed to help retail shop owners and start-ups enhance their businesses in a new retailing era. The expo is a free-of-charge event that is open to the general public.
Mrs Suchada Ithijarukul, Chief Executive Officer of Siam Makro Public Co., Ltd. said “Throughout our 25 years of operation, Makro has always understood the importance of developing strong community economies and supporting local retailers.
“This year marks the seventh year of the ‘Makro Retailer Alliance’ project and the 2014 Retailer Expo will be bigger than ever. The expo offers new ideas on retail business management, as well as tools and techniques to boost sales and profit. The activities are designed to help retailers enhance competitiveness and growth opportunities in today’s fast changing business world.”
The Makro Retailer Expo is one of the main initiatives run under the Makro Retailer Alliance project. The objective of the expo is to showcase new ideas and concepts, and new tools and techniques to help retailers boost sales and profits.
Mrs Suny Sidik, Chairman of the 6th Makro Retailer Expo Committee, said the 6th Makro Retailer Expo - under the theme “New Era Retailing” - will be an inspiring event for Thai retailers. Program and stand highlights include:
-Information and consultation zone for retailing business management and a presentation of the latest design and display ideas for retailing businesses. There will also be a display of next-generation retail shop models such as “Shohuay-to-go”, “Shohuay-close-to-nature”, and “Shohuay-from-container”
-A display of prototype shops based on designs submitted in the second “Shohuay Show-Sa-nae” contest that challenged contestants to renovate old shops to attract new customers.
-A presentation on new business development ideas to cope with today’s fast-changing world given by the winner of the fourth Thai Retailer Legacy business plan contest
-DIY Workshops for creative gadgets such as the multi-purpose can, go-green container, etc.
-Center Stage Activities including seminars covering topics such as: “How to penetrate the shopaholic’s brains”, “5 ways to become an ideal retailer”, “Future of retailers in AEC era,” “Retailer: Think outside the box”, and more presented by industry experts including Ajarn Thanyawach Chaitrakoonchai, Khun Jo Montanee Tantisook, Khun Wongtanong Chainarongsing, and special guest speaker from the Royal Thai Police office
-A 3-D shop concept design service
-Over 200 booths hosted by Makro’s business partners
-A replica model of a traditional floating market - the floating market symbolizes Thai retailing from both the past and the present
-Entertainment shows, including mini concerts, from the winners of The Voice Thailand
“Over the past five years, the Retailer Expo has been very well received, and attended by Makro customers and the general public. Given this track record, we are quietly confident the 2104 expo will generate good feedback again. We estimate there will be over 60,000 attendants for the 6th Retailer Expo and strongly believe that local retailers will gain practical ideas and plans to win the hearts of more customers,” said Mrs Suchada.
The 6th Retailer Expo will take place from 26-29 June and will be open during 10.00-19.00 hrs at Exhibition Halls 2-3, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani.
