On 14 June, 43 years ago, the first Hard Rock Cafe in the world opened in London. In this celebratory week, we put on several things for our customers and band members.

On 9 June, 6 students who received scholarships granted under our project ‘Rock the School’ came to have lunch with us at Hard Rock Café Pattaya. 6 scholarships have been awarded to 6 government school students who are currently studying in Grade 6, from low income backgrounds, to continue their study in junior high school and further on. Each student receives the fund of THB 28,000 per year and each student is selected and evaluated by a committee formed by Hotel executives and School officials. The scholarship fund is designed to help the student and respective families to buy uniforms, books and extra-curricular educational activities.
On 10 June, Hard Rock Pattaya staff and management went on ‘Rock the Lunch’ at Baan Amphur Primary School to provide students a quality lunch. Schools which have a limited budget for children’s meals are selected and we do this on a monthly basis. Our own band members buy the food, prepare, cook, and serve it! We also put on some entertainment during this time, and the children all have a blast and leave nourished and energized. TAKE TIME TO BE KIND.
On 12 June, the Team went on ‘Rock the Forest’ at Khao Chi-On Non Hunting Area in Sattahip District, Chonburi in order to plant Hairy-Leafed Apitong (Yang Na), Takian (Hopea Odorata), Siamese Rosewood, Indian Gooseberry and Muntingia in this area covering 8,000 sqm, in order to rehabilitate the wasteland. This project was initiated last year, and we have in the plan a maintenance schedule of visit the forest every 6 weeks or so. Chief Somsuk Kongsombatsuk, Chief of Khao Chi-On Non Hunting Area explained to us the multiple benefits of forestation; apart from sustainability, what we are doing will considerably contribute to the good health of the forest, It will help keep the water in the reservoir and local people will then have water for their farms and plantations throughout the year. Animal inhabitants will also have adequate water and food. This forest is a habitat of various species of animal namely, deer, Hog deer, Eld’s deer and more. We will also come back periodically to check the growth of the saplings and the conditions of this piece of land in the course of this and the coming few years. SAVE THE PLANET.
On June 11th, it was time to do a bit of partying … Hard Rock Band members from all departments celebrated Our Birthday in our ‘U Rock Party’ with band members band playing live, having some tasty food and having a drink or two …. ALL IS ONE.
On 14 June, Hard Rock Café Pattaya invited all the regulars and guests to celebrate and sing the Birthday song together. Later on that night, Hugo played the Hard Rock Cafe stage together with his guest, Jay Montonn. Hugo is the first Thai solo artist signed with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation label. Hugo is a dedicated songwriter, musician and performer with a huge following in his native Thailand, and is best known for his bluegrass cover of Jay-Z’s “99 Problems”. LOVE ALL SERVE ALL.
