Bangkok Bank President Chartsiri Sophonpanich, executives and staff celebrate as Privy Councillor His Excellency General Surayud Chulanont and Money Expo Chairman Santi Viriyarungsarit present the bank with Money & Banking magazine’s prestigious ‘Bank of the Year 2014’ award. The award follows its success in attaining Money & Banking magazine’s ‘Outstanding Booth Award 14th Money Expo 2014’. This is the seventh year since 2007 Bangkok Bank has won the ‘Bank of the Year’ award, recognizing its outstanding performance, which not only considers profitability, as demonstrated by its position as one of the three most profitable banks in Thailand, but also its focus on strength and stability as Bangkok Bank has the highest total allowance for doubtful accounts from loan classification, among banks, of 89.697 billion baht, resulting in total loan loss reserves of 5.12%. The bank has a total capital adequacy ratio to risk assets of 16.92%, Tier 1 capital and Tier 2 capital of 14.40% and 2.52% respectively. The bank’s operational strategy enables it to respond effectively to opportunities and a continuously changing environment.
