Bangkok Bank Vice President of Public Relations Department Aphiwat Punnopakorn (middle), on behalf of the bank, received a presentation plate from National Press Council of Thailand President Jakkrit Permpoon (3rd from left), Adviser Pongsak Payakwichian (4th from left), and committees and subcommittee members for sponsoring the Council’s seminar, ‘The Role of the Media in Fighting Corruption in Thai Society’. The seminar was held to mark the Council’s 17th anniversary and encourage media to play their role in monitoring corruption in Thai society. Bangkok Bank recognizes the importance of media in spreading news via various channels thoroughly and accurately as well as maintaining high standards of social ethics for the benefit of the public. The National Press Council of Thailand is an independent entity founded to monitor media, promote freedom, ethics and social responsibility, and publicize work displaying sound ethics and good governance.
