Offering an enchanting way to celebrate Mother’s Day, Anantara Chiang Mai Resort & Spa presents a special Sen Yai Rak Lunch & Afternoon Tea Buffet for only THB 499 nett per person at The Restaurant, on Tuesday 12th August 2014 from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm.
The Thai phrase “Sai Yai Rak” expresses how the relationship between mother and child is like a string, which is Sai or Sen in Thai, holding their love together, and this celebratory luncheon invites guests to show their mum just how much they care with a special luncheon in luxurious riverside surrounds.
For the Sen Yai Rak Lunch & Afternoon Tea Buffet, the resort’s Executive Chef Prabhash Prabhakaran has crafted a refined menu of tantalising tastes, including a delicious range of noodle and pasta dishes. Guests can begin with selections from the salad bar of fresh European and Thai flavours. Thai specialties include Kanom Jeen Nam Ngiew (Thai rice spaghetti with Northern style sauce, pork ribs, blood and pickles), Chiang Mai’s famous Khao Soi Gai (chicken noodle soup) and a live station preparing Som Tam (spicy papaya salad). Made to order pasta creations allow guests to choose between spaghetti, penne and fettuccine, lavished with bolognaise, pesto or carbonara sauce. BBQ pork belly is flame grilled to perfection and succulent chicken tikka tempts Indian cuisine enthusiasts. Afterwards a parade of boutique Thai and western desserts includes classic English scones, artistic macaroons and exotic mango pudding for a decadent sweet finale.
Refreshing beverages are served throughout the buffet, with a variety of specialty teas and infused iced teas presented by the resort’s Tea Master, enticing guests to linger with their favourite brew, long into a peaceful afternoon. While as a memento of this special day, every mother receives a jasmine hand garland.
