Bangkok--12 Aug--Grant Thornton A survey of more than 87,000 students from across the Asia Pacific named Grant Thornton as one of the top 50 most attractive employers in the region. The recognition is an output of the Universum Annual Student Survey. The survey ranks the companies students indicated they would “consider working for” and then selects their five “ideal employers”. Tom Sorensen, the Partner leading Thailand’s People and Culture at Grant Thornton said, “Grant Thornton employees across the region are proud to receive this award. It is clearly evident that Grant Thornton is seen as a place where people across Asia Pacific know they can develop and grow their careers, united by a common vision and strong values across the region.” Tom continued, “Considering the fast approaching AEC, we find it encouraging that Grant Thornton is recognised by thousands of Generation Y as a place they would want to work when they start entering the job market. In a world with a contracting labour force, as we see throughout Asia including many countries in ASEAN, it's a matter of survival to have a brand that is well known.” The rankings are based on the opinions of students from countries that include Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. Universum, a leading global research and employer-branding consultancy, conducted the fieldwork from October 2013 to May 2014. Universum’s survey explores the most common career drivers, student goals and desirable employer attributes when choosing an employer, such as a friendly work environment, and professional training and development. The results are weighted by GDP.
