KBank launches POS Solution, hoping to maintain No.1 position in merchant card-acceptance business

Bangkok--14 Aug--KASIKORNBANK KASIKORNBANK takes a step forward in the merchant card-acceptance business after the striking success of K-PowerP@y (mPOS). Equipped with transaction logs, inventory, and payment platforms, the innovative POS Solution has been designed to attract more users to the K-PowerP@y (mPOS). KBank aims at a total user base of 30,000 by this yearend, confirming its market leadership with a 37-percent share. Mr. Chatchai Payuhanaveechai, Executive Vice President of KASIKORNBANK, said that more people from younger generations find the idea of owning a business fascinating. And one way for merchants to improve sales is by accepting credit card payments. In view of this, KBank has developed innovative payment systems to facilitate both merchants and credit cardholders, including the K-PowerP@y (mPOS) service introduced in March 2013. The service has been well-received and has already been made available to over 10,000 merchants within a year. Lately, KBank has brought its ingenious K-PowerP@y(mPOS) to the forefront, ushering in the POS Solution application – a program making the entire process of transactions possible on a single tablet. The program features an over 100-product list whereby prices and specification can be detailed and product photos can be uploaded. Features include an inventory calculator and a smart sale record collector. The application also incorporates a payment menu where users select items chosen by customers to calculate payments – this works just as though the tablet is a cash register. The customer then chooses a preferred method of payment. For credit card payment, the POS Solution application will connect to the K-PowerP@y(mPOS) system which allows customers to swipe the card immediately. After payment is successfully made, the program automatically adds in the sales, deducts inventory from a stock ledger and now the store has a comprehensive record of the sale and updated inventory of automated sales records. Talking about security, the POS Solution is considered an effective program in this department. It mainly collects data regarding payments, accounts and inventory management without storing credit card information in the merchants’ tablets. The POS Solution application is provided free of charge until December, 2014, and now available for shops at ASIATIQUE The Riverfront. By the end of this year, KBank is hoping it can secure some 30,000 stores operating credit card payment facilities via the K-PowerP@y (mPOS) service, up from the current 10,000 stores. KBank now has approximately 150,000 card-accepting merchants combined across all systems nationwide, being number one in the market with a 37-percent share.
