Rolls-Royce has presented a unique Trent 1000 titanium fan blade to Thai Airways International customised by local artist Mr Suradech Termsabsiri, also known as ZIDS.
“The Thai Airways slogan ‘rak khun tao fah,’ which translates to ‘love as wide as the sky,’ was the main inspiration for this piece. I also incorporated images associated with THAI such as Thai silk and the orchid that represent friendliness. In terms of style, the design is my modern take on traditional Thai art – the image was created to flow evenly around the blade. And I used aerosol paint only – no brushes or air brushes – it took a lot of time and concentration to finish the piece, but I am happy and proud of it,” explains Mr Suradech.
