The Baroncelli collection sees the arrival of a new model intended to meet the aesthetic demands of fine watchmaking connoisseurs. The Baroncelli Small Seconds excels in its harmony of line and timeless elegance, a mark of true design for watchmaker Mido. The watch borrows its sophistication from the Opera House in Rennes, which inspired its subtle curves. Its dial, silver sunray satinated with central guilloché-style pattern, is protected by a rose PVD-treated steel case. The second hand is positioned off-centre in a counter at 6 o’clock. All these features combine to recreate the distinguished, classical character that the timepiece shares with the monument in Rennes.
An operatic landmark, the Rennes Opera House has distinctive rounded architecture. The harmonious lines and subtle curves, typical of the neoclassical tradition, make it a particularly outstanding monument. The sophisticated forms of the Baroncelli collection pay tribute to the timeless elegance of this building.
The new Baroncelli Small Seconds lays full claim to its place in Mido’s emblematic collection. Its 38 mm rose PVD-treated steel case is remarkable for the finesse of its form and its wide opening. It houses a silver sunray satinated dial with central guilloché-style pattern – signs of unquestionable sophistication. The model’s elegance is enhanced with the second hand, positioned off-centre in a counter at 6 o’clock. Blue Roman numerals decorate the edge of the dial, and the window at 3 o’clock displays the date. The hands are bevelled and diamond-polished, and an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, treated on both sides, enables pleasurable reading of the time.
The Baroncelli Small Seconds is fitted with an elaborate automatic movement. It is water-resistant up to a pressure of 5 bar (50 m / 165 ft). The finely decorated movement with polished screws, the oscillating weight embellished with Geneva Stripes and engraved Mido logo can be admired through the transparent case back. With its black, semi-lacquered leather strap, the Baroncelli Small Seconds will find itself at home on the wrists of aesthetes and connoisseurs of timelessly elegant watches. A stainless steel version (case and bracelet) is also available.
