France -- Khun Cheng Niruttinanon; Executive Director, Khun Thiraphong Chansiri; President and CEO of Thai Union Frozen Products Public Company Limited (TUF) and Mrs. Elisabeth Fleuriot; CEO of MW Brands together with MW Brands employees all recently joined in an inauguration of a new Research and Development laboratory at the plant in Douarnenez, the historical production site of the group since 1952. They were also proudly joined by Mr. Philippe Paul, the Senator-Mayor of Douarnenez, and Ms. Annick Le Loch, Deputy for Finistère.
This new laboratory, representing an investment of EURO 400,000 or approximately THB 18 million will develop new product innovations and advanced industrial processes for its heritage brands Petit Navire, John West, Parmentier and Mareblu in markets in France, Great-Britain, Northern Europe, Dubai, Italy as well as for its export sales business unit. The latest facility is 450 square meters and will host new product developers, research scientists and technicians.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Thiraphong Chansiri, President and CEO of TUF said that “Seafood is the passion of my family who created the group in 1977. It is today a USD4 billion turnover company. In 2010 we acquired MWBrands; Europe’s leading canned seafood with its heritagebrands including Petit Navire in France, Mareblu in Italy and John West in the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, and numerous other markets in Central and Eastern Europe and , Middle East and Africa.”
