Mr. Michitaka Sawada, President and Chief Executive Officer of Kao Corporation, revealed that Kao has planned to invest in Thailand, buying 165,000 SQ.M. land to prepare for the construction of a new plant at Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate, Rayong, in order to expand its manufacturing capacity to respond to the constantly growing consumer demand in the domestic market as well as in AEC in the future.
In addition, Mr. Hiroyuki Kumazawa, President of Kao Industrial (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and Kao Commercial (Thailand) Co., Ltd., revealed that Kao launched the special campaign “The Hygienic Learning for Healthy Community with KAO.” This activity aimed to deliver 5,000 KAO sets (hygienic kits worth 2 million baht) to students in remote areas nationwide. This was done in cooperation with the Association for the Promotion of Education in the Remote Areas under the Patronage of Her Royal Highness the Princess Mother, to encourage Thai children to learn about cleanliness and have good hygiene and improved sanitation in their communities through edutainment (games).
Kao products comprise fabric care and home care products which include Attack laundry detergent, Haiter bleach, and Magiclean floor cleaner; skin care products which include Bioré facial cleanser; and hair care products which include Feather, Kao Essential, Asience and Liese; and sanitary care products which include Laurier sanitary napkins and Merries diapers.
