TUF Awarded Thailand’s Corporate Brand Rising Stars 2014 Topped Brand Value Growth, at 180%, in the Agriculture and Food Sector

Bangkok--22 Sep--Thai Union Frozen Products Mrs. Sasinan Allmand (left) Head of Corporate Communications at Thai Union Frozen PCL (TUF), the world’s number one shelf-stable tuna processor and owner of leading global portfolio of seafood brands, receives “Thailand’s Corporate Brand Rising Stars 2014” award from Prof. Dr. Pirom Kamol-Ratanakul (right) Rector of Chulalongkorn University at the Thailand’s Top Corporate Brand and Corporate Brand Rising Stars 2014 awards ceremony held recently at the Stock Exchange of Thailand. Thai Frozen Union PCL (TUF), the world’s number one shelf-stable tuna processor and owner of leading global portfolio of seafood brands, received one of Thailand’s Corporate Brand Rising Stars 2014 award and stood out as the highest growing brand in the agriculture and food sector comprising 46 public listed companies. The awards are based on a research on Evaluating and Ranking Corporate Brands in Thailand, conducted by the Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy, Chulalongkorn University. The awards are presented as recognition for publicly listed companies with the best performing corporate brand values and to raise awareness on the importance of corporate branding as a drive towards business sustainability in Thailand. Mrs. Sasinan Allmand, Head of Corporate Communications at Thai Union Frozen PCL (TUF), the world’s number one shelf stable tuna processor and owner of leading global portfolio seafood brands, said “On behalf of TUF management and employees, I am very proud and honored to receive the Thailand’s Corporate Brand Rising Stars 2014 award for the first time. We are also recognized as the listed company with the highest brand value growth of 179.71 percent with current brand value of 11.958 billion Baht – highest development in the agriculture and food sector comprising 46 companies. The findings are based on a research on Evaluating and Ranking Corporate Brands in Thailand, conducted by the Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy, Chulalongkorn University with the award ceremony co-organized by Manager Group, Settrade.com and Interbrand. “TUF has entered an important era as the Group’s production and marketing network have expanded covering 13 countries in four continents around the world. Thailand’s Corporate Brand Rising Star 2014 is an annual award based on the results of a research on Evaluating and Ranking Corporate Brands in Thailand in which the research team aim to develop brand valuation tool systematically in Thailand using CBS Valuation. The brand valuation is conducted on publicly listed companies using 2010 statistics as baseline. This year, the brand valuation is conducted on 494 publicly listed companies (as of 18 September 2014) from 8 different industrial sectors. The objective of the valuation is to raise awareness on the importance of corporate branding for sustainability. This year, the organizers also recognizes the importance of strategic branding building and also held a forum to discuss this topic.
