Thaicom PLC led by Mrs. Suphajee Suthumpun, Chairman of the Executive Committee and CEO and Nok Air led by Mr. Patee Sarasin, CEO launched a free in-flight Wi-Fi Onboard Service offering Nok Air’s passengers with a 3G-speed connection via Ku-band network for the first time in Asia. At the Private Jet Terminal, Don Mueang International Airport, both Thai and international journalists together with honorable guests had also experienced a VDO streaming from the aircraft to the Conference Room and also a connection while travelling on Nok Bussaracum, the inaugurated aircraft flying between Bangkok and Phuket on September 23, 2014.
The In-Flight Connectivity (IFC) broadband service was developed in accordance with its New Frontiers strategy: New Solutions which is intend to offer the new mobility solution through the satellite network serving sea-air-land connectivity serving the industry and our customers with end-to-end services, enabling the passengers to access to the hi-speed internet while on boarding. Thaicom has cooperated with its partner Global Eagle Entertainment to implement this service to allow the passengers to get access to broadband. Thaicom is confident that the In-Flight Connectivity service will create an added value to Nok Air and more enjoyable experience for its passengers.
