Bangkok Bank Chairman of the Board of Directors Chartri Sophonpanich (8th from left), Board of Directors Piti Sithi-Amnuai (8th from right), President Chartsiri Sophonpanich (3rd from left) and Top Executives welcomed His Excellency Mr. Ning Fukui, China’s Ambassador to Thailand (center) as keynote speaker at the Bank’s International Knowledge Talk seminar titled ‘Western China: A New Business Frontier’. The Chinese Ambassador delivered the keynote speech at the seminar, which also featured a panel discussion among Honorary Professor, School of Economics and Finance at University of Hong Kong and Former Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Professor Frederick Ma Si-Hang, GBS, JP (7nd from left); Party Secretary and Director of Research Institute for Indian Ocean Economies (RIIO), Yunnan University of Finance and Economics Professor Wang Rong (5th from left); Director, China National Association of International Studies and Advisor, Asia-Pacific Board of Advisors, the MasterCard Group Victor Zhikai Gao (7th from right) and Executive Vice President, Charoen Pokphand Group Dr. Sarasin Viraphol (4th from left). The panel discussion was moderated by Bangkok Bank Senior Vice President & General Manager – Vietnam Tharabodee Serng-Adichaiwit (left). Bangkok Bank has recognized the economic growth and changes of Chongqing and the western region of China resulted from Government’s development policy for the region. This not only has enhanced the economic potential of the western region, but also turned it to a trading and investment base for foreign investments. The Bank hosted its latest International Knowledge Talk seminar to provide information and insights on China for its customers – businesses, investors and retail customers – as well as the general public.
