On Friday 3 October 2014, Hard Rock Hotel & Cafe Pattaya launched the annual international campaign, PINKTOBER to raise awareness of breast cancer. The campaign kicked off with an opening speech by Mr. Ronakit Ekasingh, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya City and Mr. Jorge Carlos Smith, General Manager Hard Rock Hotel & Cafe Pattaya.
Joined by Bangkok Pattaya Hospital, the Pink Parade in the Dark was led by NU Color, Hard Rock Cafe resident band, performing live on the parade truck. All participants including staff from Bangkok Pattaya Hospital and staff from Hard Rock Hotel & Café Pattaya joined force by dressing in pink. During the parade, participants also carried flyers and donation boxes to raise funds for the Thanyarak Foundation, a foundation in search of a cure for Breast Cancer.
The parade gained attention from tourists, locals, street vendors and media alike. The parade continue made its way along Beach Road until Walking Street, everyone within the vicinity, stopped, smile and enjoyed the show, everyone had a great evening including many former Ms. Hard Rock models, who also came to join the parade.
The campaign in Pattaya will continue throughout October, next event will be Pink Night, a charity concert by Unicorn Girl Band featuring members of The Mighty Queen Band and Pinktober Fashion Show at Hard Rock Café Pattaya on Saturday 18 October 2014. The admission is FREE.
