Assignment 1 of ‘Farmers Love Safety’ Reality Show

Bangkok--17 Oct--BRIA Regional Secretariat Assignment 1 of ‘Farmers Love Safety’ TV reality contest recently kicked off in Suphanburi’s Don Chedi District and Ayutthaya’s Bang Sai District. After participating farmers were trained at the Farmer School in the compound of the Rice Department, they were required to pass on their knowledge to 50 more farmers in their communities. The two teams were judged by a panel of experts consisting of Dr. Pakorn Suchare, Head of Crop Protection, BASF (Thai) Limited; Mr. Surasak Simtrakul, Managing Director, Farm Channel (Thailand) Co., Ltd.; Assistant Professor Dr. Panamas Treewannakul, Associate Dean, Kasetsart University; and Mr. Chaiwat Wattanachai, Advisor to the Rice Department. Mr. Suriyan Vichitlekarn, BRIA Regional Project Director, was also present to observe the event. This edutainment reality show is organized by BASF (Thai) Limited in collaboration with Better Rice Initiative Asia (BRIA) under the German Food Partnership (GFP) and the Rice Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives. This TV show is being aired on the SMILE Farmers program on Farm Channel, every Thursday, 17:30 – 18:00 pm, from now until December 18, 2014.
