The tradition of Loy Krathong goes back seven centuries to the?year 1292. On the night of the full moon during the twelfth lunar month, people gathered along the riverbanks to float (loy) woven banana leaf baskets (krathong) containing candles, incense and flowers; giving thanks to the river goddess for providing enough water to sustain their lives. Sometimes parted lovers send their thoughts and wishes along with their krathong.
Join us for a unique evening of celebration. Enjoy traditional Thai dancing, music, cuisine, a Miss Noppamas contest and experience floating your own Krathong.
The celebration will be held on Thursday, 6 November 2014 at the Free-Form Pool in front of Essence Restaurant. The event will cost 1,200 THB net per person and the buffet starts at 19:00.
