Loy Krathong is a Thai tradition celebrated annually throughout Thailand on the full moon night of the 12th lunar month, which usually falls on a day in November. When the moon shines at night, it makes rivers clear and is very beautiful scenery for floating a Krathong. Loy means to float and Krathong is a lotus-shaped vessel made of banana leaves. The floating of a Krathong is to float away ill fortune, to create good luck, and to express apologies to the Goddess of Water, Phra Mae Khongkha.
