Airbus successfully conducted a test flight for Vietjet’s newest Airbus A320, the first aircraft that the airline will receive as part of an order made in Singapore earlier this year for 100 Airbus jets.
The mandatory test flight, which was carried out at the Airbus factory in Toulouse, France, is a crucial part of the Test and Certification Program that ensures every new aircraft produced by the aviation giant meets the highest standards of safety.
After this successful test flight, the certified aircraft will have its interior fitted out before being delivered to Vietjet in Vietnam by late November.
“We are delighted that the first plane as part of our historic order for 100 Airbus aircraft has been completed and we are looking forward to welcoming this brand new A320 to our fleet,” said Mr. Luu Duc Khanh – Managing Director of Vietjet. “We are very proud of our partnership with the world’s leading manufacturer of aircraft. By using Airbus aircraft we have successfully grown our airline and helped millions of travelers across Southeast Asia “Enjoy Flying!” We look forward to further growing our network and optimizing our operations with this latest Airbus aircraft.”
A handover ceremony will be held in Toulouse in late November with the heads of Vietjet and Airbus in attendance along with members of the international media. The delivery ceremony is scheduled for late November this year.
This ceremony will prove to be a milestone for Vietjet’s development after nearly three years of operations, enhancing the fleet up to 20 aircraft. With its expanded fleet, the airline will continue to develop its flight network nationwide and across the region.
The airline has won plaudits back in Vietnam for its dynamic contribution to development of the aviation industry in Vietnam.
