Bangkok--12 Nov--Bangkok Bank
Bangkok Bank 4th Regional Metropolitan Area Manager Ekarut Poviboon (left), executives and staff joined the Chao Phraya River Clean up activity hosted by the Royal Thai Navy, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), Magic Eyes and the Harbor Department. The opening event was attended by the Royal Thai Navy Commander-in-Chief Admiral Kraisorn Chansuvanich (3rd from left), Thai Environmental and Community Development Association (Magic Eyes) President Khunying Chodchoy Sophonpanich (center), Chatrium Hotels and Residences Managing Director Savitri Ramyarupa (right) and volunteers from various companies and agencies. Fifty BMA boats removed garbage from the Chao Phraya River, starting from the Pinklao Bridge pier and working their way along the river to Siriraj pier before ending at Sathorn pier. The project aims to build awareness about taking care of and preserving rivers by not dumping garbage into them. This is in line with the government’s policy of stressing that everyone has to take responsibility for any waste that they create.
