International tennis sensation teams up with Porsche for good cause Maria Sharapova Stopped by the Porsche Centre Singapore to Raise Funds

Bangkok--13 Nov--Porsche Centre Bangkok Maria Sharapova joined forces with Porsche to hold a charity event at Porsche City Centre Singapore last night. The event aimed to raise funds for The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund (SPMF), a community project to support children from low-income families through school. Together with contribution from Karsono Kwee, Executive Chairman of Eurokars Group, a donation of SGD 50,000 was successfully gathered, allowing the Porsche community to give back to the society. Ong Lay Ling, Executive Director of Eurokars Group, presented the cheque to SPMF Chairman, Han Fook Kwang, at the charity event. During the event, auctions for autographed tennis racquets, balls and a handbag from Porsche Design contributed to the donation. Guests at the event were also given photo opportunities and the little Porsche fans participated in mini tennis matches with Sharapova. On top of that lucky guests took home attractive Porsche Design merchandise and tickets to the BNP Paribas Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) 2014. Maria Sharapova, who is in Singapore for the BNP Paribas WTA 2014 Tennis season finals, said: “This is the first time that the finals are held in Singapore, and I am very happy to be here, especially given the opportunity to team up for good cause while visiting Singapore.
