The show integrates traditional Korean rhythms with modern musical forms and creates an extraordinary and unique experience that has delighted international audiences since it was first performed in 1997. The show is presented through music and motion, comedy and drama. It brings joy and laughter to audiences of all ages and nationalities! To double the fun, all of you can interact with the performers and become a part of the show. The storyline is set around the relationship between a grumpy restaurant manager and a crew of fun-loving cooks who peel, chop and fry with hilarious consequences. Song Seung-hwan, the producer of Cookin’ NANTA, has said that the infectious fun of NANTA has turned stressed city workers into relaxed citizens with a new-found child-like passion. Since the debut in 1997, Cookin’ NANTA has travelled around the world and became the first show from Asia to hold a long-term performance on New York’s Broadway. NANTA made its international debut in 1999 at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where it received an award for best performance. Since then, it has been staged in the UK, Germany, Austria, Italy, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, the Netherlands and Australia. By 2013, over nine million people around the world had enjoyed the show. The Seoul tourism board also recommended NANTA as one of the top 10 must-see things in the city. Starting from Dec. 24 to March 22 2015, the Cookin’ NANTA is coming to Sands Macao’s Sands Theatre.
