Thaicom PLC led by Ms. Suphajee Suthumpun, Chairman of the Executive Committee and CEO has signed the syndicated loan for THAICOM 8 Satellite Project, together with Mr. Panit Dunnvatanachit, Executive Vice President of Bangkok Bank Public Company Limited (right side) and Mr. Predee Daochai, President of Kasikorn Bank Public Company Limited (left side). The ceremony was held at Sky Lounge 20th fl, Intouch Tower on December 11th, 2014.
This is the second success of the deal type in that a Thai satellite project was financed through local commercial banks and that it was structured similarly to that of foreign Export Credit Agencies (ECA); moreover, the deal had been executed in a time-efficient period which similar to the deal of THAICOM 6 satellite, the first Thai financial project success in 2012.
THAICOM 8 will be launched to the orbit within the first half of 2016. THAICOM 8 will support the growth of Thailand’s broadcasting industry and provide adequate capacity to serve the HDTV trend. The satellite will also allow The Company to meet the Ultra-HD demands for Thailand and the international market expected in the future.
