The Securities and Exchange Commission, Thailand (SEC) and the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to form ‘Academic Alliance’ project to develop knowledge management for public and private sectors as well as economic, social and capital market development. The project aims at creating quality graduates through a variety of academic projects.
Vorapol Socatiyanurak, SEC Secretary-General said, "This MOU signing will promote academic sector participation in the Thai capital market and economic development. Under this MOU, the SEC and NIDA will jointly drive knowledge and curriculum development to enhance the quality of graduates to become workforce for public, private and capital market sectors. The collaboration also extend to conducting survey through "Nida Poll" on the issues of capital market, financial literacy and investment behavior as well as production and publication of academic researches and papers beneficial to the Thai capital market development. Moreover, more than 10 scholarships for Master’s programs at NIDA will be granted to executives of both public and private sectors from other countries, such as Bhutan, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, Korea, China, especially from Yunnan, Guangxi, Guangdong, and Fujian Provinces, etc., so as to strengthen relationships with international counterparts in the Asian region.”
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pradit Wanarat, NIDA President said, “NIDA is very pleased with the MOU signing on ‘Academic Alliance’ project with the SEC today. This is considered another cornerstone to foster our development cooperation in the areas of knowledge and curriculum on public and private sector management along with economic, social and capital market. The project also aims to develop the authentic learning process in order to prepare the graduates for real-world challenges as well as promote and support various academic projects to enhance the quality of academic works for utmost efficiency and effectiveness. In this regard, we trust that our effort will eventually bring about mutual benefit to our country as a whole.”
