Bangkok--4 Feb--3Marker Innovation
The Rockefeller Foundation today announced a grant of 16 million baht to Mahidol University to support the Prince Mahidol Awards Conference (PMAC). Since 2007, this annual forum held in Bangkok has brought together the world’s leading doctors, scientists and public health officials to surface high priority health issues and propose concrete solutions.
The announcement coincides with this year’s PMAC, taking place 26-30 January at the Centara Grand at CentralWorld in Bangkok, and marks the 100th year of The Rockefeller Foundation’s partnership with Thailand, a collaboration that has engaged in innovative efforts to promote the well-being of the people of Thailand. The Rockefeller Foundation is hosting a reception on 30 January at 6:00pm at the Centara Grand’s Lotus Garden to mark the century-long partnership and to showcase Thailand’s progress toward health equity, including through its universal health coverage reforms.
Leaders from The Rockefeller Foundation are available for media interviews and the reception is open to media. To RSVP for the reception, please visit www.bit.ly/PMAC2015. For more information, please contact Apatsara (Jeab) Meena at
