The Institute of Language Teaching and Educational Guidance for Further Studies in Japan (Jeducation) has announced it is ready to wow Japan lovers in Thailand with the “JAPAN EXPO IN THAILAND 2015”. Poised to become the grandest exposition for all things Japanese ever staged in Thailand, the event promises to bring the charms of Japan for Thai people to closely experience between February 6th and 8th, 2015, at the Royal Paragon Hall, 5th Floor, Siam Paragon Shopping Complex.
Mr. Takuo Hasegawa, Managing Director, Lighthouse Info Service Co., Ltd., and Executive of the Institute for Language Teaching and Educational Guidance on Studies in Japan (Jeducation), said, as the organizer of the “Japan Expo in Thailand 2015” that the company’s longer than 12 years of experience in organizing guidance for studies in Japan in Thailand yields in-depth information on trends of Thai people’s interest in furthering their studies in Japan in various fields. Jeducation, accordingly, sees opportunity to hold the “Japan Expo in Thailand 2015”. Set to be the grandest event of its kind ever staged in Thailand, this exposition is intended to respond to rising demands of Thais who are lovers of the Japanese ways. The event is anticipated to attract more than 100,000 visitors and it is also expected to serve as a bridge bringing relationship between Thailand and Japan even closer.
The “Japan Expo in Thailand 2015” will wow visitors with a fascinating range of everything presenting distinctive Japanese ways of life including merchandise, technology, food items, fashion, beauty business, education, tourism, entertainment, arts and culture. Visitors will delight in great Japanese offerings from more than 300 booths on display. Scheduled to take place between February 6th and 8th, 2015 at the Royal Paragon Hall, 5th Floor, Siam Paragon Shopping Complex, the event is divided into the following five different zones:
- Education Zone comprises more than 50 educational institutes from every level. Interested visitors will find educational information in details, such as information on furthering studies, study programs during school holidays, scholarships from different organizations including accommodation, preparation guidance and the opportunity to listen to real-life stories of living and studying in Japan from Japanese alumni.
-Career Zone presents a collection of Japanese corporations and medium companies from various industries looking to hire potential employees. They include some of the world’s leading companies such as Honda, Panasonic, Denso, Mitsubishi Electrics, Sharp, Cannon, Bridgestone, Kao, NMB-Minibear and Daikin Industries –which together offer career opportunities for more than 10,000 positions. Besides, there will be Japanese Language Proficiency Tests (JLPT) available for people interested in testing their Japanese language skills.
- Tourism Zone consists of tourism-related bureaus from several provinces and cities in Japan, such as Hokkaido, Kumamoto, Kagoshima, Kitakyushu, and Miyazaki. The entities will introduce tourist destinations, hotels, foods and facilities aside from discount promotions on air tickets, package tours and JR Pass at special prices.
- Shopping Zone is complete with unique Japanese merchandises such as food items, fashion clothing, beauty products, ingredients and seasonings. In addition, stationary designed by famed designer Shinzi Katoh will be introduced along with make-up brushes made from mountain goat hair, Yukata (Japanese Kimono for summer), fabric bags, and ready-to-eat food which is not usually available in Thailand. Many of these products will be sold with as high as 50% discount beside many other promotions.
- Multimedia Zone showcases booths from Japanese TV stations e.g. NHK, Fuji TV, TV Asahi, as welll as, mobile application and game companies to display a host of advanced Japanese technologies. Importantly, the teamLab, and the Ultra Technologies group, the world-renowned creator of digital art, will present their pieces of futuristic art for the first time in Thailand.

As for stage performance, the list of performances in entertainment, arts and culture include a mini-concert by Jo Inoue - the singer of the famous song ‘NARUTO’; an orchestral performance by the NEO Japanesque, harmonizing Japanese and western musical instruments; Japanese traditional dances; a cosplay mayu contest of which the winners will receive round-trip air tickets to Japan. Last but not least, visitors will be entertained by a mini-concert by “Podd Modern Dog” and Japanese artist Ruri who will together perform the famous song “Scala”.
In addition, a number of interesting activities are also planned to entertain visitors, such as J-Challenge 2015, a contest on Japanese language and general knowledge on the country. The winner will receive a scholarship and a chance to spend two weeks in Japan. Other activities include a special Japanese language class with “Praewa” from the famous TV series “Hormones Season 2”; Domo - a demonstration of Japanese traditional tea making art; Maguro fish slicing demonstrations; and, mini-bowl soba eating contest to win free meals for 1 year!
Additionally, the organizer holds a seminar on Japanese food by the Association of Culinary Art of Japan. At the seminar, a well-known chef will fly from Japan to give a lecture on how to make sashimi, concentrated soup (dashi), and other techniques used in Japanese cooking.
