Bangkok--17 Feb--Centra Central Station Hotel Bangkok
Auspicious Chinese New Year dishes on the menu at Chyna, Centra Central Station Hotel Bangkok, as families and groups of friends gather to dine and celebrate together, include pan-fried turnip cake with XO sauce, and Yee Sang fish salad.
The pan-fried turnip cake will also be on sale for Baht 60 per serving at Chyna’s street food booth at Yaowarat, in Chinatown, during the Chinese New Year festival that will take place there from 19 to 20 February. Our booth will be in front of Thian Fah hospital from 14.00 – 21.30 hrs.
Yee Sang, traditional amongst Chinese communities the world over during New Year, contains salmon, symbolising gold, seabass, standing for health, and tuna, meaning good business and prosperity. Other ingredients include fruit, vegetables and taro, with tradition demanding that the ingredients be stirred or tossed with chopsticks simultaneously by all guests at the table.
Yee Sang, available at Chyna but not at the street booth, is on the menu from now until 28 February and is priced at Baht 599, Baht 999 and Baht 1499 per serving.
